Floor Mounted 6 Inches Jointer Reviews

Below you will find four different floor mounted 6 inches jointer reviews.

They all have in common a 1HP single phase motor, 3 blades that operate at 14,400 cuts per minute. All are for a maximum 6 inches width.

JET JJ-6CSX 6-Inch 1-HP Jointer

Our first product for this article on jointer reviews is the JET JJ-6CSX. This is a brand name item that comes with a great 5 year warranty. Not many people who bought one of these seem to regret their decision. They are well built and are workhorses. This model uses handwheels for outfeed and infeed table adjustments. It weighs 215 pounds. The cast iron bed does not have wheels, so you’ll have to purchase them if you don’t want to dedicate a space to this machine in your shop.

DELTA 37-275X X5 Professional 6-Inch 1-Horsepower Jointer

Another brand name with a 5 year warranty, this Delta machine is very well built and few owners complain about it. The main difference in comparison with the JET is the use of levers instead of handwheels for infeed and outfeed table adjustments. They have been reported to work well, but it is a stigma for some woodworkers. Weighs 225 pounds and also doesn’t come with a mobile base. So clear a space in your shop, buy the mobile base, or look for a different model.

Shop Fox W1745 6-Inch Jointer With Built-In Mobile Base

This is a new item with not a lot of reviews on it. On paper it looks pretty good. Its best asset is the mobile base. It has a good table length and is usually cheaper than the JET and Delta competitors (check for discounts). Uses handwheels for outfeed table and has a lever adjusted infeed table. There have been some issues with low quality packaging, and you also shouldn’t expect a lot in terms of quality. It weighs 270 pounds. A good alternative if you don’t want to spend more for the name brands or if you can’t do away with that mobile base.

Grizzly G0452 6″ Jointer

This brand is sort of a pet peeve of mine. They are made like power tools should be made, rugged and tough. Customer service is also very good. This model has a great mobile base that doesn’t cause instability. Also uses handwheels for outfeed table and has a lever adjusted infeed table. It weighs 163 pounds. This tool is the one I would recommend, and it is usually the cheapest of the four (even though discounts are hard to come by).
